...reminds me of a number moments that I had with him. There weren’t many, but I’d guess I had a ½ dozen sit downs with him when I came by for whatever reason and you weren’t home. There was a time I came by and you were either not there or were doing something that had you tied up for a bit, and your dad and I sat in the den, and although I can’t remember what it was we talked about, I do remember that we must have talked for at least a ½ hour about all kinds of shit. But he had such a genuine interest in what I had to say, or so I thought at the time. I recall it coming across to me as genuine interest, and only hope that I come across in the same manner when talking to Caroline’s friends. Clearly his love of tape didn’t go lost on his offspring. I clearly remember the nose of the GrandAm being all taped up at one point. Of course my greatest recollection of Herb is the genius behind his bin-lift on the corner of the house. It was absolutely the genesis of the dumbwaiter that Jeff and I eventually built at the Dome. I remember the garage door mechanism standing on end powering a milk-crate basket from the corner of the driveway up to the window in the family room. brilliant.
